Very Berry Smoothie Bowl

Breakfast here is usually catch as catch can, since one of us is out the door before the sun comes up.  I generally reach for a protein bar or a ready made  protein drink. But lately I’ve been really crushing on smoothies, and yes I’ve come up with a smoothie bowl for breakfast you’ll love! A Very Berry Smoothie Bowl Full of fruity goodness, amped up with a bit of crunch from the chia seeds and topped with Nature Valley™ Protein Granola.

I received two different bags of Nature Valley™ Protein Granola to try and while I’m generally a chocolate lover, I much prefer the Nature ValleyTM Protein Granola Oats and Honey over the Nature ValleyTM Protein Granola Oats and Dark Chocolate.  There are several varieties available including another of my favorites, the Nature ValleyTM Protein Granola Cranberry Almond and the Nature ValleyTM Protein Granola Peanut Butter is pretty good too! I sprinkle a little over plain greek yogurt, on my salads even into my regular smoothies. That crunch just can’t be beat!  I’m making a pie for a get together this weekend and I’ve even made a pie crust with the Nature Valley™ Oats and Honey Protein Granola. The possibilities are endless!  I found them in my local grocery on the same aisle as regular granola snacks. Look for these bags!

This recipe is uber easy, all you need are 6 ingredients and your choice of toppings and you’ve got a delicious breakfast or lunch, or you can split the servings and have a wonderfully different snack. Any way you do it, its just darned good!

You can substitute baby spinach for the kale if you prefer and of course raw honey for the agave.  Just be sure you puree the greens well. You don’t want any stringy greens hanging around in your bowl!  Omit the chia if you prefer but I’ll tell you this (as a former chia seed hater) they add something totally special to this bowl.

I’ve never had a smoothie I had to eat with a spoon but I think I could get the hang of it really quickly. :)
